This studio, led by Heather Bizon, investigates the Past Futures of the American Colorado River Basin. For over several decades, the Colorado River Basin has been drying up. The phrase is born of loss, but has acquired texture, depth, and decades’ worth of meaning. How can we redesign common things, consensuses, priorities and hierarchies, the invisible connections between universal, national, and local rights? What is revolution and resolution in relation to the potential histories and futures of the Colorado River Basin: the people and culture, its ecology and the future conditions of the environment?
