This mini-course explores the theoretical foundations of generative AI and its emerging role in architectural design. Through selected readings from architectural theorists, digital media artists and AI researchers, students engage with key concepts at the intersection of machine learning, design computation and architectural theory. The course offers an overview of generative AI within contemporary architectural discourse, encouraging critical and creative reflection on its impact on design thinking, aesthetics and authorship. Coursework includes lectures, discussions and writing assignments.
