This studio introduces design as a speculative and conceptual process through projects that prioritize experimentation and discovery, observation and analysis, and critical thinking and iteration. Students develop foundational visual and spatial literacy, moving from abstract composition to an understanding of fundamental architectural principles. A central aim of the studio is the investigation into the composition and sequencing of space. Students analyze how form and void are organized to create temporal experiences grounded in human scale and perception. Through the study of circulation and threshold, students learn to perceive architecture not as a static object, but as a deliberate sequence of spatial conditions.
