This studio revolves around key questions that guide inquiry and design exploration. It examines how materiality, construction, detailing, assembly, and derived structural systems can shape the spatial organization, form, and experiential quality of a market square and public institution, treating structure and material as active generators of space.

The studio also explores how a critical reading of context, including the existing brick building, adjacent school, neighborhood fabric, and community needs, can inform a cohesive and responsive architectural strategy. It investigates how architecture can foster community ownership, civic engagement, economic vitality, and a strong sense of belonging, while supporting flexible, evolving uses.

At the urban scale, the studio considers how the project can enhance neighborhood life and promote sustainable practices without disrupting the area’s character. Finally, it asks how the interpretation and abstraction of natural phenomena can inform material and structural systems, translating these insights into a compelling architectural proposition.
