This weekly seminar explores the critical elements of architectural theater design. Course sessions are conducted in classrooms, studios and performance venues on- and off-campus. The course is comprised of four interlinked instructive streams:
• Specialty lecture-discussions presented and facilitated by the course faculty, including experts from within the schools and practicing professionals.
• Architectural pre-design programming and planning research for a new flexible 500-seat flexible performance hall for London's Southbank Centre.
• Architecture concept design collaboration, review and development of student design concepts for the performance hall, the subject of architecture students' co-requisite architecture studio.
