Lecture: Koray Duman

Join us for the lecture by Koray Duman titled 'Spaces of Generosity: Practicing Architecture in a Fragmented World.' Koray is part of the exhibition team for Carnegie Museum of Art's 59th Carnegie International, which is launching on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Organized every four years by Carnegie Museum of Art, the Carnegie International is the longest-running exhibition of international art in North America. The 59th edition will be the most collaborative and far-reaching to date—a clear expression of the museum’s founding commitment to the art and artists of our time, at once grounded in our locality and extending globally.

Koray's lecture will show us how to identity and recognize design principles that promote social exchange and belonging, demonstrate how social issues can be addressed in various scale architectural projects from small scale interventions to large scale institutional projects, demonstrate community engagement strategies and it's impact on design development and space use, and identity design strategies that activate public spaces for diverse cultures, classes and social backgrounds.
